Sean Hoffman's (Eastern Michigan) scoreless inning streak extended to 11, dating back to June 19, as he shutout the Lima Locos for seven innings yesterday, leading the Monarchs to a 4-3 win.
Hoffman allowed the last of his two runs on the 19th vs. the Columbus All-Americans in the 5th inning, and has not been scored on since. In the win over the Locos, he allowed just five hits and two walks in seven innings while striking out seven.
The game was scoreless until the top of the 6th inning, when the Monarchs attempted a double steal with runners on 1st and 3rd and one out. Brett Savage (Akron) stole second, and Ryan Satterlee (Toledo) went home on the throw.
